Our Latina-owned jewelry line was inspired by our immigrant grandparents. Growing up, I did not have jewelry as a staple in my wardrobe. I remember saving money just to purchase a piece of jewelry from the swap meet or Claire's if I got lucky. I felt so good when I got to add a piece of jewelry to any of my outfits.
As a child, I remember my grandma wearing beautiful gold pieces of jewelry. These jewelry pieces were all gifted from herself to herself. She worked hard for everything she had in life.
Jewelry is a symbol of success in my culture. I believe my grandma invested in her jewelry because she was proud of what she was accomplishing in life and wanted a small tangible reminder that she was indeed successful despite all the odds she faced.
Watching my grandma wear gold jewelry was a pivotal moment for me because I realized that gold jewelry complimented my brown complexion. I too wanted to have jewelry like hers.
To this day, I wear gold jewelry proudly because deep down it keeps my grandma's memory alive for me. When I look good, I feel great and perform even better in everything I do. I want people to experience this feeling.
Fina de Oro is here to bring you that good feel vibe without a price tag that kills your vibes.
Cheers Grandma Lupe, te extraño.
